Ishan made his International debut as an Indian U-19 player on 28 July 2020 against Ireland U-19 at Dhaka. Later he was named as a caption of the Indian team for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. India U-19 team won 5 consecutive matches in that world cup and reached in final under his captaincy. Unfortunately, his team was unable to take the title of winner.
